Black Friday is Nov. 27, 2026, and Small Business Saturday is Nov. 28. Greer’s own holiday shopping is mostly local: the city’s Holiday Arts Fair the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the shops and restaurants of downtown’s Historic Greer Station, and the Greer Farmers Market’s two-day Christmas Festival on the tree lighting weekend.

Holiday Arts Fair: Saturday, Nov. 21

The City of Greer’s Holiday Arts Fair is an indoor market of handmade work by local artists and makers at the Center for the Arts, 804 Trade St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The city lists one-of-a-kind artwork, handcrafted gifts and holiday pieces. The fair also hosts the annual Empty Bowls Sale of handmade bowls by local artists; the city says it raises money for local after-school and summer programs. Past fairs have included visits from wildlife ambassadors from local rescues.

Small Business Saturday downtown: Nov. 28

Historic Greer Station, the downtown district around Trade Street, Poinsett Street and Main Street, is where most of Greer’s independent shops, cafes and restaurants are. No 2026 Small Business Saturday promotion had been posted by the city or the downtown merchants as of Nov. 1; we add one here when it is announced.

The Greer Heritage Museum, 106 S. Main St., is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, according to its website, and sells Greer150 sesquicentennial merchandise, according to the city’s Greer150 page.

Greer Farmers Market Christmas Festival: Dec. 5 and 6

The Greer Farmers Market holds its Christmas Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, and Sunday, Dec. 6, in Greer City Park, 301 E. Poinsett St. Its vendors are local, from within 50 miles of Greer. In 2025 the festival had more than 65 farmers, makers and bakers, food trucks, live music and children’s activities, and outside food, drinks and pets were not allowed, according to the city’s 2025 holiday weekend guide.

The same weekend brings the city’s tree lighting on Friday, Dec. 4, and the Greer Relief Christmas Parade on Sunday, Dec. 6. See our Christmas parade and tree lighting page.

Store and mall hours

  • Haywood Mall, Greenville: regular hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. It had not posted Thanksgiving or Black Friday hours as of Oct. 16; check its hours page.
  • Wade Hampton Boulevard stores: the big-box stores along Wade Hampton Boulevard post holiday hours on their own store pages, for example Kohl’s Greer and Target on Wade Hampton Boulevard. None had posted Black Friday 2026 hours as of Oct. 16.

Parking and traffic

  • The city runs free public lots and decks downtown, including the 210-space Jason Street garage at 120 Jason St. and 85 spaces at City Hall, according to its parking page.
  • The free Greer Station shuttle runs a downtown loop 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Routes are on Discover Greer.
  • For the festival weekend, the city recommends its free lots and the parking garage; West Poinsett Street closes for the parade on Sunday afternoon.
