Halloween falls on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026. Greer’s Halloween season runs across the last two weekends of October: a free costume disco at the Center for the Arts, the Police Department’s Trunk or Treat on Trade, the Greer Heritage Museum’s ghost tours and the city’s Day of the Dead Festival. Official trick-or-treat hours, if the city sets them, are on our separate trick-or-treat hours page.

Halloween Disco: Friday, Oct. 23

The city’s Cultural Arts division hosts a free Halloween concert with The Vinyl Junkies from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Center for the Arts, 804 Trade St. The city’s events calendar invites guests to “dance, dress up, and celebrate Halloween.” Costumes are welcome.

The same evening, Greer Alive! runs from 5 to 8 p.m. in Greer City Park with live music and food vendors; outside alcohol and coolers are not allowed, according to the city’s Greer Alive! page.

Trunk or Treat on Trade: Sunday, Oct. 25

The Greer Police Department and other first responders hand out candy from decorated vehicles along Trade Street from 5 to 7:30 p.m. It is free, and pets other than service animals are not allowed. Parking, volunteer sign-up and the rest of the details are on our trick-or-treat hours page and in the city’s announcement.

Greer Ghost Tours

The Greer Heritage Museum runs two guided walking tours on set evenings in October. Both last about an hour and have “no jump scares,” the museum says, just storytelling about Greer’s past.

  • Trade Street Tour: the classic tour, from Greer’s rough early days on Trade Street. Meet at Trade and Randall streets and park in the Historic Greer Depot lot. Tickets are $13 for adults and $7 for ages 5 to 15.
  • Graveyard Tour: stories from Greer City Cemetery, the town’s first cemetery. Park at the Jason Street garage. Tickets are $17 for adults and $9 for children.

Tours cover real historic murders, so the museum asks parents to use judgment with younger children. Tickets must be booked online in advance; walk-ups are not accepted. If severe weather cancels a tour, ticket holders get a refund. The tours are one of the museum’s biggest annual fundraisers.

Day of the Dead Festival: Friday, Oct. 30

The city’s Dia de los Muertos Festival fills the Center for the Arts, 804 Trade St., from noon to 10 p.m. It is free, with Latin dancers, a mariachi band, a salsa band, an artist market, food trucks and children’s crafts. The “Honoring Our Loved Ones” exhibition by 23 South Carolina Latino artists is on view inside through Oct. 30.

Haunted maze and pumpkin patches

The nearest haunted attraction with a published 2026 schedule is the Big Boo haunted corn maze at Stewart Farms, 6600 Highway 92 in Enoree, in Spartanburg County. It runs Oct. 23, 24, 30 and 31 for ages 6 and up. The farm rates it 3 out of 10 for scares and runs a non-haunted jack-o’-lantern wagon ride the same nights. Hours and the farm’s other fall dates are on our fall festivals and pumpkin patches page.

Halloween night

Oct. 31 falls on a Saturday this year. The city had not posted official trick-or-treat hours or any Halloween-night street closures as of Oct. 16. Neighborhood and church trunk-or-treats are added here when the organizer posts the date, time and place on its own page. To list one, send it to us.
