Greer's walking loops at Kids Planet, the Center for the Arts and Veterans Park, the South Tyger River Greenway under way, and the 32-mile Swamp Rabbit Trail nearby.
Last checked Oct. 16, 2026. Facts come from the City of Greer’s Parks, Trails and Facilities page and Greenville County Rec’s Swamp Rabbit Trail page. The city does not publish lengths for most of its park loops; where a distance is given here, it is the owner’s own figure.
Greer does not yet have a long greenway of its own. What it has are short paved loops in its parks, two trail projects under way, and the 32-mile Swamp Rabbit Trail system a short drive away in Greenville County.

Trails under way
South Tyger River Greenway. The city adopted a master plan in 2022, and construction has begun on Phase 1A, from Country Club Road Park (2501 Country Club Road) along the South Tyger River. The ADA accessible trail will have four river overlooks, a boardwalk and future kayak and canoe access, and the city expects Phase 1A to be finished by the end of 2026. Trail maps are on the city’s parks page.
Wards Creek Trail. Phase 1 is a proposed 0.45-mile walking and biking trail from Biblebrook Road to Wards Creek Park, 110 Greenleaf Drive, built of asphalt, concrete, shared roadway and boardwalk, to connect downtown neighborhoods.
Biking
Greer’s park loops are short and some ban bikes, so most riders head to the county system:
Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail. Opened in 2009, this 32-mile and growing network runs through Travelers Rest, Greenville, Mauldin, Simpsonville and Fountain Inn, Greenville County Rec says. Its interactive map shows access points and parking, restrooms, road crossings and half-mile markers. County rules include a speed limit of 20 mph, stopping at every road crossing, keeping right and passing with “on your left” or a bell, and keeping dogs on a short leash.
Near water
Greer CPW’s Lake Robinson, 2544 Mays Bridge Road, has a boat ramp, three fishing piers and shelters, and is open sunrise to sunset, according to CPW. It is used mainly for boating, fishing and paddling.
