Downtown Greer, branded Historic Greer Station: the 1913 depot, Trade Street restaurants, the museum, City Park, free parking and shuttles, and its yearly events.
Last checked Oct. 16, 2026. Facts come from the city’s tourism office, Discover Greer, the city’s parking and shuttle page, the National Park Service’s National Register records and each business’s own website.
Downtown Greer markets itself as Historic Greer Station: “brick paved streets lined with historical buildings, award-winning restaurants, and unique boutiques,” in the words of Discover Greer. The town itself grew up around a railroad stop. The Atlanta and Richmond Air-Line Railway named its depot “Greer’s Depot,” and the town of “Greer’s” was incorporated around it on March 25, 1876. Our history guide tells that story.
